Two-thirds of the way through

I am 25 weeks and 1 day, which means I am two-thirds of the way through this pregnancy. I had another doctor's appointment this morning and everything still looks good! Our little girl's heartrate was 134. It is always so reassuring to hear the sweet sound of our daughter's heart beating. It was especially nice after this week of work since there have been several IUFDs (intrauterine fetal demise) over the past week. I have always felt terrible for those people who lose their baby after the first trimester, but since I've been pregnant I feel like I have more of a persective. Needless to say, I found myself getting a little nervous. I am so thankful that everything so far has gone well with my pregnancy. I pray that God will continue to keep our baby safe, as well as me, for the remaining 15 weeks. I definitely take comfort in knowing that God gave us this child and that He will protect her.

Richard and I leave tomorrow for our "babymoon" (our last trip with just us before the baby comes) in New York! We are going to see "Wicked" on Broadway! This will be my first play to see on Broadway so I am super excited. I will make sure to post pictures of our trip when we get back.

I also will have to post a picture of our baby bedding that just arrived! We still have to get a mattress, so I will take a picture after we get it all put together.

Baby Room

Richard has been working so hard on our nursery the past couple of weeks. The room started out in a lime green color with holes all over the walls which were left from the last family that lived in our house. He first had to prime the walls and then add the other colors one at a time. He did such a good job! I'm so proud of him!

Quiz

So, I found this quiz on someone's blog and thought I would copy it.

How far along? 24 weeks, 4 days

How big is baby? She is the size of an eggplant (according to the What to Expect.com iPhone app). That is about 9 in and 1.7 lbs.

Weight gain? Appropriate...I'm not going to give you an exact number :)

Maternity clothes? Not really, I have mainly been wearing dresses that give me "room". I do use the Bella Band some.

Sleep? I know they say that I should have more energy this far along in the pregnancy, but I still like/want to take my naps.

Best moment this week? I would have to say the look on Richard's face when he feels her kick. He is so excited and it just makes my heart melt. I love this man so much and cannot wait to see how wonderful he's going to be with her when she arrives!

Movement? All the time! I love it!

Food cravings? I still do not think that I've had many cravings. Lately, I've just been hungry ALL day long.

Gender? GIRL

Labor signs? None, thank the Lord. She needs to stay in for a little longer.

What I miss? I just mentioned this to Richard this morning when we were getting ready for church. I miss being able to go in the closet and know that I will fit into something.

What I am looking forward to? Seeing what an amazing father Richard is going to be.
Weekly wisdom? Enjoy the time to sleep since you are not so uncomfortable yet.

Milestones? I would definitely say getting to 24 weeks. Although I do not want her to come yet, she has reached viability.

It's a GIRL!

We are having a girl in December! Our good friends (and neighbors) Nicholas and Nicole threw a "gender reveal" party at their house.

We baked a cake to announce the sex of the baby and...

Getting Started

For a while now several friends have "encouraged" me to start blogging...so, here goes!

Two years ago in June, I married the most wonderful man. Richard and I got married in Columbus, MS at an amazing antebellum home...

Bryn Bella

We then moved to the gorgeous city of Charleston, SC for Richard to begin his residency in internal medicine.
