Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!
Kirksey was a fairy this year.

A bunch of the kids from our community group

It didn't take Kirksey long to figure out that she could walk up to the doors and get candy.

She even started venturing out on her own

It was so nice to be able to go trick-or-treating with a group this year, especially since Richard was on call.

She had so much fun and really liked getting to wear a costume!

We were glad that daddy could make it for a little while at the end.

Hope you had a great Halloween too!

Trouble

Kirksey opened a door for the first time last Sunday, October 7.
We are officially in trouble!

She still has a surprised look on her face each time she does it.

On another note, some sweet friends passed this swing set along to us. Kirksey loves having a swing and slide in our backyard.

The side is just the perfect size for her to climb up on her own...over and over and over again.

Daddy teaching her how to swing like superman.

22 Months Old

Kirksey, you are 22 months old today!
I feel like you have changed so much in the past 2 months.

You still wear 18 month clothes, size 4 diapers, and size 4 shoes. However, you have gotten a little bit taller.
You now have 16 teeth.

Your personality is showing more and more each day.
You can jump, kick a ball, and throw a ball over your head.
Your favorite book is Llama Llama Red Pajama. We read it every night and you finish every sentence.

You are repeating most words that I say to you.
You were even saying "cheese" in you monthly pictures.

You have such a sweet disposition.

You say "please" and "thank you" (I only have to prompt you about half the time).
You say "bless you", multiple times, when someone sneezes.

You still fall out on your belly when you are pitching a fit.

And you look at me to see the effect of your tantrum.

A few things you are saying these days...
"Belly butt" - means belly button
"Mama go" - means where did Mama go?
"Maci there" - means there's Maci
You do both of these things for anything and EVERYTHING
You get your pronouns mixed all the time. For example, you hold your arms up and say "hold you" instead of "hold me"
You say "boo" while raising one arm to get us to jump and scream. You think that is hilarious.
Every time you hear a airplane you let us know.
You say "choo choo" every time you hear the train. You also add in the arms going back and forth going "chug chug"

You love shoes and can put them on by yourself most of the time. You make sure to point them out to lots of people throughout the day.
You love ketchup, and any other thing you can dip.
You have learned to drink the milk out of your cereal bowl.

You still love to be outside, play at the playground, walk up and down the street.
You have figured out how to crawl from the back seat to the front seat so you can pretend to drive (in the parked car in our driveway)

You push all buttons and I have to fix everything each time I drive after you have been in my seat (like the wipers or blinkers going crazy when I turn the car back on).

You love Maci and chase after him everywhere.

You have had several timeouts for being mean to him, but thankfully he loves you right back and never gets mad at you.

You love being able to sit in regular chairs, beds, blowup mattresses. We had a fun day when daddy was working and played on the blowup mattress all day and even made a fort out of it.

You are nonstop. You love any kind of ball, train, truck, animal, doll...basically everything.

You have started getting up on the couch, pulling the blanket over you, and saying "night, night". Then you pat the pillow beside you and tell us to go night night. It is precious.

Oh, how we love you precious girl!

Richard meets Courtlyn

A couple of weekends ago we took another trip to Birmingham for Richard to meet Courtlyn. I, of course, got the benefit of hanging out with my sweet niece again!

Richard kept saying how little Courtlyn was. It is funny to think that Kirksey was smaller when she was born. My how she has grown!

Richard's first time holding his new niece.

Kirksey was so thankful that Courtlyn shared her toys with her.

We had many photo attempts to get Kirksey and Courtlyn together in our laps. Kirksey didn't want to be still.

She much preferred to play with Michael!

Now Kirksey is checking out her cousin while I am looking away

So sweet!

We had to make sure to get the MState logo near her face for a picture!

This past weekend Kirksey and I got to go visit and play with Kenzie.
Kirksey insisted on wearing the tiara. This was her face when I told her to smile!

She can already swipe a credit card. I think we might be in trouble!

The girls eating at a table "just their size"

Here are a few pictures from the zoo the other day. Yes, we were at the zoo and all Kirksey was interested in was sitting in the rocking chairs.

Love her!
