16 Months Old

Kirksey, you are growing up so fast. You are 16 months old already!

You are in size 4 diapers. You wear 12 month, 12-18 month, and some 18 month clothes.

With the exception of your molars coming in, you sleep well at night. Occasionally we will hear you fuss for a second or two on the monitor, but then you are asleep again. You go to bed about 7:30 most nights and you have been sleeping until about 8:00 in the morning. You wake in the morning and play in your crib for a little while before I come in to get you. I like that a lot. It gives me the chance to get breakfast started before I get you out of bed.

You have officially transitioned to 1 nap a day. You nap from about 12:30 to 3:00 most days. Sometimes it is a lasts a little longer!

We can ask you if you are ready for a nap or to go night night and you will head straight to your room.

You still have 3 meals and 2 snacks a day, which I am sure will last for a while.

Most of the time when you get fussy it is because you are hungry. I can't blame you for that!

We have just begun "time-out". You have only had it 3 times, but every time is because of you throwing things.

Just like any child, you do not like being told no.
We are really going to have to keep our eyes on you. You try to be sneaky and do what you are wanting, but fortunately for us you are about as sneaky as I am so you won't get very far!

You still throw your fits by hitting the floor and putting your head down. Sometimes you drop your head so hard and fast you end up hurting yourself.

You love for me to sing songs. You even clap and say "yay" at the end.

You are so smart and understand so much. Just the other night we showed daddy how I can sing the "clean up" song and you start picking up your books to put back on your bookshelf.

You want to do almost everything on your own. This can make mealtime very messy, but you are getting much better at feeding yourself with utencils.

You are always so proud of yourself! You even say "yay" and clap your hands together. (this applies to anything you do, not just eating)

You are trying out more words and sounds all the time. You are also perfecting some of the ones you have been saying for a while. This also goes for making the animal sounds.

You LOVE to be outside, and usually pitch a fit when we go inside.

You are getting so good playing at the park that it makes me realize just how fast you are growing and changing. Here you are going up the stairs by yourself.

So happy to get to slide

and go down by yourself!

You have so many squeals of delight these days. The sound just fills my heart with joy.

One of the games you like for us to play is "chase", you get so excited when we are coming to get you!

You love animals. You are always finding animals outside to point at and make sounds...like dogs, birds, and even a caterpillar.

You are also quick to point out dandelions, flowers, and monkey grass.

You also want bubbles everyday when we are outside, and are so sweet to bring them to me.

It's hard to remember what life was like before you. You have brought so much happiness to our lives!

You have such a sweet personality and we love you to pieces!

Loving Spring

We are loving this wonderful spring weather! Kirksey and I went to Tupelo this past weekend while Richard was on call. Kirksey and Kenzie had a great time together. Do you think Kirksey likes to swing?

I have been doing P90X to get ready for our vacation and wearing a bathing suit. I have completed 4 weeks now, so hopefully I can keep it up! I have a very helpful workout buddy. She really likes my pink yoga mat, not to mention she thinks it is fun to go under my legs!

I couldn't resist showing my most successful couponing trip (probably ever and I doubt I'll be able to do it again). I had some awesome coupons. I got all of this...

And paid only this...(make sure to look at the subtotal, I only paid tax on the transaction!!!)

While we were in Tupelo, Jennifer and I made dresses for the girls. Here is the one I made for Kirksey. I am enjoying using my sewing machine, when I have the time to sit and work!

Have a great weekend!

Photo Overload

After having our 15 month check up we went to Chick-fil-A to ease the pain of the shots Kirksey had to get.

She was so excited to see an elephant and kept making the sound it makes!

Cutie pie in the tub.

She has gotten really good at lining up her toy animals. She can even get the one you ask her to get.

Last week we headed to Birmingham for the big gender reveal for Kirksey's cousin!

Kirksey liked Addie's crayons and coloring book.

And since it is finally Facebook official, I thought it would be safe to post these pictures!

IT'S A GIRL!!!

Kirksey wasn't too interested in helping open the box.

The tally before the cousins revealed the gender to us...I picked right!

And some a lot of pictures from one of these last few beautiful days.

Kirksey is all over the place these days. I am constantly chasing her. (Maybe that's why I have a harder time keeping this blog updated.)

Look at those curls!

She is telling me where her head is.

Always chasing Maci

Love her!
