1 Year Old!

Sam, you are 1 year old!

I truly cannot believe how fast this year has gone by.
You are still in a size 4 diaper.
You wear 12 or 12-18 month clothes.
You have a size 4 shoe, but you will outgrow that soon.
You have 6 teeth showing and another 2 that are about to pop through your gums.

You have been nursing 4 times a day for about the last week.
You are moving towards taking 1 nap a day, but occasionally you will still take 2.

You are still not liking to be fed with a spoon, instead you like to feed yourself with your fingers.
The only food you really do not like is banana. You will eat it if it is pureed in a pouch that you can eat straight out of, but you will not eat it cut up in pieces. I think it may just be the texture you do not like.
Your favorite fruits seem to be blueberries and strawberries. If you see one across the room you flap your arms and start babbling to me.

Your favorite vegetable is a grean bean. I am always surprised how many you eat in a sitting.
You also really like any kind of meat.

You still prefer to drink from a straw cup instead of a sippy cup.
We gave you your first taste of cow's milk today, but you didn't want very much. I managed to get a pic of your first taste.

You are getting good at walking. It is becoming your primary mode of transportation. However, if there is something that you want bad enough you will drop down and crawl. You are so speedy when crawling.

You absolutely love Kirksey. It is so fun to watch the two of you interact and love on each other. You can make each other laugh for so long. It definitely has to be one of my most favorite sounds in the entire world!

You played with your first cupcake today, but wouldn't really eat any.

I am sure you will get the hang of it one day soon and enjoy sweets!

You are the sweetest, most handsome little boy. You have made our family so wonderfully happy this past year. I am so thankful that God chose us to be parents. We love you forever!
Happy Birthday Sam!
