Prayer Request and What We Have Been Up To

The first thing I want to share that has been heavy on my heart the past few days is a prayer request for my sister-in-law's cousin, Angela. Long story short she has breast cancer and will be starting treatments at MD Anderson soon. If the breast cancer is not enough to tug at my heart with my mother having to fight it just over a year ago, Angela also recently found out that she is both pregnant and she will end up having a miscarriage. I didn't realize how long it had actually been since I made the last post. So much for saying that this would be an at least weekly thing...haha! I'm sure when I have lots of pictures to show after our little girl (still no name yet) arrives.
Richard is in the MICU this month and it is definitely wearing on him. He is on-call every 4th night and the nights he has had have been far from easy enjoyable. He is actually post-call today and sleeping like a baby! I am excited about Saturday though because will be his 3rd day off this month, but our 1st day off together all month long! I can't wait for November to get here and a new rotation to begin. I have realized the little things that I have come to look forward to every day with him when he is not on a crazy month. I won't go through them all, but there is one that I will share beacuse I absolutely love and cherish these times. At night when we are about to go to sleep Richard will place his hands on either side of my belly and talk to his daughter, waiting for her to move and respond to his voice. This is one moment that I know I will miss after she is here, but I also realize that there will be many more moments that will make me fall in love with him even more!

I did have another appointment today and she is still sounding great. I will go one more time in 2 weeks and then the weekly visits will begin. She will be here before I know it! The closer I get to the due date the more scared I feel like I get, along of course with all the excitement.

I had a baby shower in Birmingham this past Sunday. My sweet dad decided to drive to Charleston on Friday, drive with me to Birmingham on Saturday, drive back to Charleston on Monday, and then return to Birmingham on Tuesday, all so I wouldn't have to make the drive by myself. Richard and I are so blessed to have wonderful families!
Speaking of blessed, the shower was great! Everyone went around and prayed over Richard, the baby, and me. Then everyone wrote out a blessing for us/our little girl for us to keep. It was all so sweet and special to me. I'll end with a few pictures of all the great baby stuff that was given to us.
